💭 My thoughts...

3/5 stars

As with most self-help books I read these days, I've read so many that it's hard to find something that offers new content. The tips that are put forward in this book are fairly common-sense for anyone that's done any reading around the subject. What I enjoyed about the packaging of this particular offering was the amusing and approachable tone with which the author shared his tips. He is clearly a man who has learned to laugh in the face of adversity, and it helps his words leap off the page with a warmth and kindness that really helps them sink in at the other end.

I appreciated the personal vulnerability that the author was willing to demonstrate in sharing his own stories and experiences with the reader. They helped the book to feel genuine, accessible and earnest in its delivery. It takes a very decided courage to pour yourself into the pages like that, and the author did it very well.

Ultimately I don't feel like I learned much from this, but I can see how it would be useful for someone with a more entry-level understanding of anxiety. I enjoyed the reading experience and it was a fun way to look at supporting yourself through a mental health struggle.
