Real Life Organising: Clean and Clutter-Free in 15 Minutes a Day by Cassandra Aarssen

Book Review Oct 31, 2022

My review

3/5 stars

I love Cas Aarssen, her podcast, her Youtube videos, her books and her social media feeds. This is the second of her books that I've read.

There are some great basic tips in this book for anyone who is just starting out on their organising/decluttering journey. They are easily digestible and make big goals feel attainable. For someone who has been doing a lot of reading/research around this subject for a while now, I would have appreciated something a little more involved, but I appreciate that the author has to appeal to a wide audience.

The content in here is not ground-breaking or new to anyone who is familiar with Cas's output, in fact I would argue that there's nothing in here that can't be found in her very successful YouTube videos. I'm slightly disappointed with this, as I would have expected a deeper level of guidance than she offers for free on her channel.

I listened in audiobook format, which for the most part was great, as it allowed the author to imbue her passion and feeling into what she was reading. Where I did struggle is that the suggestions made were more challenging to follow in audio format. It didn't impact me too much, as I was reading mainly for curiousity, but if someone is coming to this book to follow a plan, they may want to choose a written format.
