💠My thoughts...
5/5 stars
I adored reading this book. It was a cosy and inviting read, full of warm feelings and good vibes.
My favourite part of this book was, without a shadow of a doubt, Blossom the dog. She was the heart and soul of the story, and had been written as an almost human character. I read in the back of the book that the author had drawn inspiration for this book from her own experience of getting a rescue dog, and it shows - the interactions with Blossom feel as real as they can, and they are such warm, loving interactions.
I also loved Margot and Will as characters. They both had some underlying issues to resolve that made them interesting, and their chemistry was very well written. I will say that I found Will and his story slightly more engaging than Margot's, but only slightly; it might be because I adored his family so much. They were loving and chaotic in the best possible way.
The subject matter tackled in this book was deep and moving, but it was handled so delicately and sensitively that it never made the book feel heavy or drastically changed the cozy vibe.
This is the second book I've read by this author and they've both been 5 star reads for me, so I may have to go in search of others.
📖 Synopsis...

Margot and Will both end up wanting to rescue the same dog from the shelter, and so agree to share custody of her. Their different approaches lead to some confusion for poor Blossom and result in some poor doggy behaviour, meaning that Margot and Will have to work together to get to the root of her issues. With both of them having slowly opened their hearts to Blossom reluctantly, they find that there might be a little room left for each other, if they're brave enough.
