Shopaholic On Honeymoon (Shopaholic #3.5) by Sophie Kinsella
My review
3/5 stars
I haven't read a book from the Shopaholic series in years, because I lost track of what order they came in. I came across this novella and figured it would be an easy pick-up. It was a nice way to revisit some familiar characters, but I'll admit I didn't like Becky's character as much as I remembered. She seemed overly selfish and a little too willing to pick a fight over something fairly unreasonable.
I knew this book was short, but I wasn't quite expecting it to be only 27 pages long. It's not necessarily a problem, because it's a novella, but it did seem to end rather abruptly.
Familiar characters and a short foray into Becky Bloomwood's world was nice enough, but I don't feel like the story added anything to the Shopaholic series overall.
Book blurb
The new Mr and Mrs Brandon are on honeymoon, and Becky has big plans! They’ve got a whole year to explore Venice, learn yoga in India, sleep in little wooden huts in South America… maybe even see penguins in the Antarctic. And of course they’ll need to buy just a few essential souvenirs along the way (everyone needs a set of Murano glass goblets, after all).
They’re not just tourists, they’re travellers. Becky is sure it is just the thing that Luke needs – time to unwind. He’ll come back a changed man… with all the good bits still intact of course.
But it soon becomes clear that Luke has different plans entirely. Can Becky help him let go, or will this little disagreement threaten their whole honeymoon?
