The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore

Book Review Jan 03, 2025

My review

4/5 stars

Kira has taken on the town Christmas Tree farm and is determined to do things on her own for once. Bennett is visiting his sister and, despite his best efforts not to, ends up getting roped in to help the grumpy tree farm owner make a go of things.

I know this is part of a series, and I have the other books ready on my TBR, but this is the first one I've got to. Thankfully the read order doesn't seem to make any difference - yes I now know the names of the other couples in the previous two books, but their stories weren't spoiled in any way, as these types of books always have a happy ending anyway and no other details were given.

As for this particular book, I really enjoyed it. Kira and Bennett were both very likeable and relatable characters with solid chemistry throughout. There were times when their respective issues were slightly overplayed, but it was on the right side of manageable for the majority of the book.

The setting was festive enough, thought I admit to not particularly caring about the farm itself too much. I was more interested in the town characters and finding out more about them, so I'm keen to get going on the rest of the series, and I know two more are due for release later this year.

Cosy, sexy, festive, inviting and easy to read. Great book for the holiday season and a lovely introduction to Dream Harbor.

Book blurb

Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good.

Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor trying to take a break from both his life and his constant desire to fix things.

But somehow fate finds Ben trapped by a blanket of snow at Kira’s farm, and, despite her Grinchiest first impressions, with the glow of the fairy lights twinkling in the trees, and the promise of a warming hot chocolate, maybe, just maybe, these two lost souls will have a Christmas they’ll remember forever…
