💭 My thoughts...

4/5 stars

This was a very sweet journey of self-discovery that feels perfectly pitched for it's intended YA audience. There was a fun plot to follow, it was quick to read and the characters were compelling without feeling overdone.

My favourite character was the aunt - her absence from most of the pages may make this feel a little weird, but I say it because I actually think the bookshop itself shared her persona and kept her alive in the story despite her absence. It was a comforting, cozy, warm persona, with a quirky edge that kept things interesting.

The love of books was evident throughout this story - the author clearly adores the art of reading and fed that through her pages in so many different ways that it couldn't be avoided.

This wasn't anything award-winning, but I really enjoyed reading it over a slow weekend away with some friends - light, fun, endearing and cozy.

📖 Synopsis...

Anna has just finished her A Levels and is awaiting her results (which she's sure will be bad) to see if she can get into her dream university. On top of that, her boyfriend has just broken up with her to go "find himself". To get it away from it all, she goes to stay with her aunt, who runs a coastal bookshop. When her aunt has an accident, she is left trying to keep the bookshop running. She gets a little help, and a touch of complication, from local boy Jacob, who begins to make her question if her dreams are actually what she really wants.
