💭 My thoughts...

3/5 stars

The audiobook experience of this book was a very calming and inviting one. The author read the book herself, and had a wonderfully gentle voice that really suited the topic on which she was speaking.

The passion with which the author has researched and written about the concepts and theories at the centre of this book is evident in her writing. Despite this I found myself struggling to visualise how those concepts could be implemented in my everyday life, as none of them really landed with me in a practical way. It is a beautiful theory though, and something I enjoyed learning more about.

📖 Synopsis...

Japanologist Beth Kempton explores the concept of wabi sabi - the idea of welcoming the beauty of imperfection into your life and appreciating simplicity. She presents it as an antidote to today's overwhelming speed of life, and provides theory and practical application tips to help get things started.
